Who you contract with
Louis Neil Robertson, a sole trader based in Queensland, trading as Consult itt (ABN 75 433 133 622).
Independent status
Consultants are independent contractors running their own businesses, with their own ABN. Nothing in these terms creates employment, partnership or agency. You set your own prices, choose which enquiries to accept, and can work with clients outside Consult It. [Lawyer to confirm the contractor classification approach.]
Fees: everything you pay

There are no other fees, and no sign-up or monthly charges. Consult It isn’t currently registered for GST. If that changes, we’ll tell you how GST applies to the fee before it does.
Founding consultants also receive a permanent Founding consultant badge on their profile. The 6-month founding period starts on the day their profile goes live.
Getting paid
- Payout account. Payouts are made through a Stripe Express account that we set up for you. Stripe verifies your identity and bank account during a short set-up process, and Stripe’s connected account terms apply to that account.
- Online booking. Customers can book and pay online only when your profile has online booking switched on, using the session price you set.
- When you’re paid. The customer pays Consult It. After the session, Consult It releases your payout, which is the booking amount minus the platform fee. Once online payments launch, payouts are released within 24 hours of a completed session. Your bank may take 1–2 business days to show the funds.
- Payment disputes first. We don’t release a payout while the customer’s payment is still processing or is being disputed with their bank.
Refunds and chargebacks
- Before your payout: if a booking is refunded under our refund policy (for example, the customer cancels in time, or you cancel), no payout is made for it.
- After your payout: if a refund is due because of your cancellation, non-attendance or a service failure, you agree that Consult It may reverse the payout from your Stripe balance or deduct it from future payouts. [Proposed. Lawyer to confirm.]
- Chargebacks: if a customer disputes a payment with their bank, you’ll help us with evidence (for example, confirmation that the session took place). If the dispute is lost because of your service, Consult It may recover the amount from you in the same way. Stripe’s dispute fee is paid by Consult It. [Proposed. Lawyer to confirm.]
Clients introduced through Consult It
For 12 months after Consult It introduces a client to you, bookings with that client should be made through Consult It. This is how the platform is funded. Your existing clients, and clients who find you independently, aren’t affected. [Proposed. Lawyer to confirm the wording and that it’s fair under the unfair contract terms rules.]
Referrals
Proposed: for each consultant you refer who is accepted and completes 3 paid bookings, your 15% founding rate is extended by one month (up to 3 extra months). Referrals must be people who are happy to be contacted. [Lawyer to confirm.]
Verification
Before your profile goes live, we verify your identity, ABN, relevant qualifications or licences, and professional indemnity and public liability insurance where your work needs it. Stripe separately verifies your identity and bank account for payouts.
Standards
- Work only within your qualifications and licences, and hold any licence your services need (for example, an Australian Financial Services licence for personal financial product advice, or Tax Practitioners Board registration for tax agent services).
- Describe your services and prices accurately, including GST.
- Reply to enquiries within 2 business days, and honour the sessions you accept.
- Never present unverified claims, testimonials or results.
Leaving
You can ask us to remove your profile at any time. Payouts for completed sessions are still paid. We’ll delete your data as described in our privacy policy.
