What is Consult It?
Consult It is an Australian online marketplace that connects people and businesses with independent consultants. We help you describe what you need, suggest consultants who fit, and introduce you.
Are the consultants employed by Consult It?
No. Consultants are independent professionals who run their own practices. Consult It provides the platform and introductions. The advice and services come from the consultant.
Is Consult It a substitute for professional advice?
No. Some categories, such as financial consulting and relationship coaching, sit next to regulated professions. Consultants on Consult It provide consulting and coaching within their own qualifications. For financial product advice, legal advice, or medical or psychological treatment, see a registered professional. In an emergency, call 000.
What happens to my information?
We use your enquiry to suggest and introduce consultants. It goes only to the consultants you choose, or to up to three we select and name to you. We never sell personal information. Our privacy policy explains how we collect, store and delete it.
How do I see or delete my data?
Use our privacy request form (link in the footer) to ask for a copy of your information, correct it or delete it. We aim to respond within 30 days.

How much does it cost to use?
Sending an enquiry is free. Each consultant sets their own prices, which are shown as indicative pricing on their profile. You agree the final price with the consultant before any work starts.
Are there any fees for customers?
No. Consult It doesn't charge customers any booking, service or platform fee. You pay the consultant's price, which they confirm, including any GST, before work starts. Our fee is paid by the consultant.
How does the matching work?
Our matching questionnaire scores each consultant against your answers: the category and goals you chose, keywords in what you described, preferred style, budget, timing and format. You'll see the reasons for each suggestion. It is a transparent rules-based system, not artificial intelligence, and it doesn't know consultants' live availability. The consultant confirms availability when they reply.

How do I become a consultant?
Apply through the Become a consultant page. We review your experience, then verify your identity, ABN and relevant credentials before creating your profile.
What does it cost consultants?
Applying and listing are free. Our proposed terms are an 18% platform fee on bookings made through Consult It, with an A$15 minimum per booking. Founding consultants pay 15% for their first 6 months, then 18%, and keep a permanent Founding consultant badge. Once online payments launch, payouts are released within 24 hours of a completed session. Final terms are in the consultant agreement.
